Beijing D2 - 景山公园, Jingshan Park

Touted the cheapest entry tickets to any tourist attractions in Beijing of just ¥2, you would find it most worthwhile as it gave you an aerial view of the entire Forbidden City, the 故宫!

We had walked the Tiananmen Square, round the Forbidden City walls to reach the Jingshan Park, an artificial hill that once served as an Imperial Garden. No one was admiring the hill top pavilion where we were seated, for the majestic view of the Forbidden City was the main draw here.

Half-way up hill, we were panting with excitement at our first sight of the 故宫!

When we finally reached, we enjoyed near 2hrs of sunset hours, taking in the full view and imperial aura of the Forbidden City... albeit the hazy weather, it was awesome! Ric was thriving in the cold chilling winds while i had my sentimentality over court tragedies of the past dynasties...

"虽登长城是好汉,不到景山会遗憾。"
Doesn't know where Ric heard of such silly phrases but i couldn't agree more with that now.
