Minced Meat Noodle Soup @ Fengshan Food Centre

In Ric's curiosity to try out the $4.80 hair cut in Bedok, we were bought to dine at the ever popular Fengshan food centre.

The food centre houses many of the good food stalls. Walking around, you wouldn't miss the many stalls lauded with newspaper-cuttings or badges from local food reviews and food guides.

One such food stall remains our constant favourite whenever we visit this food centre, the 興记 XingJi minced meat noodle soup (2.50). I couldn't remember the last time i have its noodle; i missed it so much.

The nicely textured noodles with its accompanying rich soup of minced meat pieces. The adornment of the red chillies and fried pork lard further enhanced the overall flavour. The fried pork lard is the crispiest i ever sampled. I emptied the bowl.

Along the same stretch is this stall offering perfectly barbecued chicken wings (1.00 each) with spicy, appetite luring chilli sauce. The tang of the barbecue grill still lingers on my fingers after the dinner.

We also ordered the oyster fried omelet (3.00) which comes in a sizeable portion of fried flour and eggs mix, but the oysters were of a miserable 5 little pieces.

Still, this serving is considered generous in this era of ever inflating food prices.
