Melting Pot @ Holiday Inn

I had planned a buffet lunch with Ric despite our disdain for Buffets. It was more an event for food tasting and visual appreciation than eating them all actually - that being our regret :)

At a 1-for-1 buffet promotion, our $29.50++ was well worth the sufficient food spread. Pity for the lack of seafood items; the buffet was compensated with rather palatable cooked food. Going easy on the Salt, the Chefs captured our appetite.

Nyonya Salad Bar.

Colorful spread of Nyonya salad draw resembles to our local Rojak but lighter and healthier. American style Green Salad Bar is also available at the opposite counter.

Mee Pok Soup.

The Minced Meat Noodle counter only served in soup today. The soup broth tastes entirely different from our usual hawker fare, this one is especially good.

Satay.

Sticks of skewered Pork, nicely accompanied by Peanut sauce with Pineapple puree dip. I had a couple of sticks.

Hainanese Beef Rice.

This Hainanese creation reminds me of the Beef Bowl (Gyudon) from Yoshinoya, the rice was similarly drizzled with Dashi sauce, Soya Sauce, Onion slices and Eggs alike.

I fancy only the rice, the Beef was terribly over-cooked, it's a pity.

Hainanese Lamb Rib.

You fancy Lamb Rib? This seems so good; ultra tender it melts in the mouth. Don't forget to drink up the tonic herbal broth.

Soya Sauce Duck.

This is good when i tasted them from Ric's plate.

Waited till the end of the buffet when they served up a completely new Duckie! I leisurely pick up a drumlet proudly, cruising over to our table to show it to Ric who is laughing at my enthusiasm.

Chocolate Cake with Ice-cream condiments Counter.

Other food items that were not in photo: Fish Fillets, Butter Cereal Prawns, Lemon grass Chicken, Stewed Beef, Dutch Pea Soup and Ayam Masak Merah, all were pretty palatable.

Hazelnut Coffee, Orange Cheese and Banana Tiramisu Cake.

These cakes go along great with the nice machine-made coffee they offered. We enjoyed their Espresso and Cappuccino. Maybe, Buffets isn't so bad after all :)
