Fried Fish Bean Curd!

Fried Fish Bean Curd, 豆支 ($6 for 10pcs)

We believe Li Duo Xing Seafood Soup stall (利多兴, #01-15) in Amoy Street Food Centre is the ONLY hawker in Singapore to sell our memorable childhood snack of Fried Fish Paste Beansticks.

My eldest auntie was sort of related to the hawker's family when they were still operating a little Yong Tau Foo stall then. Mom and auntie would always bring us kids to patronise them for our delightful bowl of springy Fishballs and scissored Fish Paste Bean Curd with sweet Yong Tau Foo Noodles!

This lovely Yong Tau Foo and Fish Paste Bean Curd memory was deeply etched in my mind.

If you hasn't try Fish Bean Curd, you might wish to. It's a savory snack that whets your appetite as you imagine having it together with the sweet chili sauce. Tasting absolutely satisfying as you minced it between mouthful of rice; even better if you could go down to the stall where they serve it together with hot vermicelli soup! Mmmm...

With recent upgrading work to Amoy Food Centre, the stall has retired... and we could no longer get our favorite childhood food :(

If you know of any place selling this fried fish bean curd, please post it here. Thank you!
