Buffet @ AquaMarine

It's true that dining illuminations could easily enhance your dining appetite or ruin it.

Probably dues to the OCBC 1-for-1 promotion of Buffet at Marina Mandarin Hotel, we were ushered to the dimly lighted side hall of AquaMarine that was already full-packed. So dim the lighting, my food appear all dark.

On the hindsight, it really does affect the appetite :(

Being famished, we rushed to fill our plates at the main hall and were awed by the extensive spread of Seafood laid on crushed ice; of Flower Crabs, Mussels, Flower Clams, Oysters, Crab Claws and Prawns!

The fresh Oysters were the best of the lot! Plump, chilled and fresh. Of course, you got to do some selection though. Ric got me a real plump one!

Japanese food counter serves Sushi rolls and Sashimi that the Chef would cut upon your request.

Explore also the Cheese selections, Cold Dishes and Salad counter, the Prawn Fritters and Crackers, the DIY local Yong Tau Foo, Chinese Rojak and Mua Chee area.

See the Yellowish-Green Cake above the Chocolate Cake? That the Coconut Cake i'm impressed with! Missed a photo of it.

My favourite Bread & Butter Pudding that i forgot to have :(

Nice pieces of Cake with Coffee rounds up our "meal in the dark". The thick aromatic Coffee here made up for all the short fall. Coffee saves the Day!

Notice the Mains missing from my review?

Well, the Mains, the cooked food section is the most uninteresting section of this buffet line. Chinese style cooking of Fried Rice, Fried Kway Teow, Steam Eggs, Braised Pork, Stewed Beef, Rendang Mutton and Chicken Rice?

For this, Cafe Brio's of similar price range ($42++ per pax) did better with their intercontinental choice of exclusively cooked dishes.
