Davidoff Cafe - Fine Aroma

Davidoff Dry Freeze Coffee, 100g ($11.50)

Our 1st purchase of lighter tasting Coffee... Usually you would buy something of a condensed flavor so you save as you normally require less from such caked concentration, right?

Quite right here.

We do taste an absence of typical coffee astringency from 'Fine Aroma' of Davidoff. Fine tasting indeed but it takes some getting used to for us...

McCafe's Mocha Chips Frappe

Mocha Chips Frappe, large ($4.70)

Sipping our Frappe Coffee, we sat waiting to watch the fireworks display of the Youth Olympics Games (YOG) Opening Ceremony.

Sadly, the coffee-chocolate goodness of the Mocha was weak.

With an extra toppings of whipped cream and extra chips (of blended coffee beans), it still lag behind, in our experience, the ice-blended from Gloria Jeans Coffee.

Thankfully, the weather was cool, the crowd was orderly and the fireworks were creatively beautiful.. In the great accompaniment of Ric ;)

一家潮州, 66 Maxwell!

I'm so excited to post about this Fish Soup stall! And Yes! Maxwell Food Centre doesn't boost of only 1 good Jin Hua fish soup stall, here's another you gonna try!

Fish Slice Bee Hoon ($4)

Having tried their other stall at Tekka Centre, i had confidently placed an order for their mid-sized bowl of $4, for more of the meaty..

Especially delightful was the little plateful of red chilies that comes with a dollop of minced garlic. It tastes wonderful with the fish! And this was what we didn't have at their Tekka's food stall..

This picture had that strangulate effect on me as i hanker after the flavorsome fish soup and ever slipperily crunchy fish meat...!

Soon.. soon.. i'll be back, soon..

Famous Amos Cookies

This my 1st try of Famous Amos's Cookies. Went passing the stall each time had us drawn by its distinct baking whiff but at the same time, overawed by its potency.

These Chocolate Chip with Macadamia Nut Cookies were from brother as we gather in the house today for Singapore's National Day holiday.

They were very sweet, so sweet you could taste the crystal sugar but undeniably good ;)

Spicy Chicken McNuggets

Have you been taking advantage of McDonald's lunch time $4.50 promotion set meals as an after meal snack? We have been.. ;)

Especially after a lunch that left us unfilled and thirsty.

Chicken McNuggets Value Meal ($4.50)

Today is my 1st try of the spicy Chicken McNuggets; with none of any dipping sauces, it was seriously spicy with bits of spices & herbs clearly visible. An echo of Thai spicy fishcake?

We still love the oldschool McNuggets, with Sweet & sour sauce, Barbecue sauce or the Curry sauce.. :)

1-for-1, BBQ Chicken

I realized that not every restaurant could genuinely offer 1-for-1 meals promotion.

At BBQ Chicken restaurant today, we certainly felt the gimmickry. 1-for-1 meal promotion? Swensen restaurant, the originator still does it best, so far.

We were rudely shocked by the smallness of the serve. Not so much the left hand plate, it's the right hand one..

Mushroom Chicken Steak, choice of 2 sides ($11.90++)

At such promotion, we were not expecting glorious food standards but at least the potion got to feed you.

Ginger Chicken Steak, choice of 2 sides ($11.90++)

This plate could make any boy Scouts cry over its beggarly serving potion..

So don't trust the pictures of full plated food on its promotion banners; plain water not served in this restaurant also.
