奇记 QiJi Popiah

Popiah ($1.90 per roll)

It's been a long time since we lasted patronizes Qiji; ever since they commercialize their branding and started a chain of Qiji Cafes.

Now with stiff F&B market competition, their Popiah which used to be the best ones around had relegated to one of standard chow.

Prices at Qiji is also on the higher side with near $4 for a bowl of Laksa, Mee Siam or Nasi Lemak, but you would be surprised with the many regulars they have.

We were at their Shaw Tower outlet enjoying an afternoon Coffee break; yes, the Coffee ($1.10) tastes great.

Will post it next time when we return for a revisit of more food... and Coffee :)

Longest Queue in Blk 69

Boneless Duck Rice ($2.50)

Yes! We are back to Cheok Kee Boneless Braised Duck Rice; just 1 day apart, and i'm missing it so much already :)

Again in the queue waiting while people were packing away 1, 2 Duckie each or packets of Duck Rice for the factories and offices in the vicinity.

Each plateful was drenched generously with ladle of Braised Sauce that was lightly flavored and never a tad overpowering. It's delightful! You would know the queuing time was all worthwhile :)

My 1st Crocs!

No, we wouldn't pay so much for a pair of Rubber shoes.

Crocs shoes are made of special Croslite material that's a proprietary Closed Cell Resin (PCCR) material which is NOT Plastic NOR Rubber.

Super comfy wear but we've only got them now cos' of the hefty price tags. At this weekend Metro Warehouse Sales, we bought them at $25 per pair. It's a steal!

I had meant to buy Beach, the original Crocs model but none came in my size during this Sales.

I do wish to own more than a pair. Just receive this Crocs Sales notice from Ric. Be there or be sorry :) I'm dreaming of a Crocs shoe...

Rice Kueh ($0.60), Clives Kueh ($0.70), Soon Kueh ($0.70)

No, this stall is not located in Toa Payoh, only its signboard reads so. It's located in Blk 69 Geylang Bahru Hawker Center, selling handmade Rice Kueh, Abacus Seed, Ang Ku Kueh and Soon Kueh.


Real handmade quality with thin easily torn skin and infill of just the right degree of flavor; these are quite a delight.

I must remember to pack the Chives Kueh for Grandmom next time!

祝记 Cheok Kee Boneless Duck

"You really want to eat this? Want to queue?"
"Yeah... Yeah." And i couldn't take my eyes off its neat row of Braised Duck.


We were back to Blk 69, Geylang Bahru Hawker Centre to pack some Lunch. Looking for interesting food, this stall impressed us with its snaking queue and enticing displayed Duckie.

Boneless Braised Duck Rice ($2.50)

My sizeable serving rice pack, tasting ever so heavenly even after my 2hrs delay for Lunch. Its Chili, Braised Sauce, Duck Meat, Soy Sauce Dark Rice and fresh Cucumber slices - Everything was Perfect. Yum Yum Yum...

I couldn't resist NOT going back the very next day :)

众人好 Noodles

You love noodles? Guess we all do.

At Blk 69 Geylang Bahru Hawker Centre, this morning noodles stall have their Lor Mee sold out pretty early, by 10:30am!

Lor Mee ($2)

The dull brown colored broth worries us; different from our usual darker tone. But it's really good, flavorful yet not overly salted.

Taste it to judge for yourself.

Prawn Mee ($2)

Light shrimpy broth for a warming belly to start the day. And it has an condiment of crispy Pork Lard that i love...!
