Buffet Dinner at RISE

Located in the Marina Bay Sands Hotel lobby, RISE offers a smashing spread of international culinary delights! They had focuses on most European and American cookery, blending some from Asia Pacific and the colorful ethnic groups of Singapore.

Priced at $68++, the lavish buffet-style dinner sure pleases our tastes buds.

My apology that the selection of food featured in the following are just the tip of the iceberg; Desserts section which offers classic sweets from the East and the West already took up the entire lighted round table you see in the photo above.. fresh fruits counter based separately.

As always, we started off our dinner with some rich cream soup to warm our famished bellies before the refreshing greens and salads.

You should see the table full of baked Breads, choices of Vinegars dip, Butters and ranges of chilled Salads, Cold dishes and shaved Ham; thanking God that there were just 3 Soups to choose from.. ;)

Then do we ascend to our "must eat" section of chilled Japanese Sushi, Sashimi and more..

Seafood on Ice

Juicy and sweet Oysters! I lingered about this table, making 3 trips here and triumphed 6 Oysters, 7 Prawns, 2 Scallops, 2 Clams!

Chilli Crab with Golden Mantou

This plateful was the assortment from Cooked Food section with our special omission of the Turkey and Christmas stuffings; the cream of the crop being the following 2:

Prime Rib!

Old Fashion Beef Cheek!

Some Indian fare of Basmati Rice, Tandoori Chicken, Mutton Curry, Chickpea Curry, Mango Chutney and Papadum crackers! The Roast Duck drum was a "steal" somewhere ;)

What we did not try were the 3 high tables of Cheese.

But merely looking at them were an eye-opener; i was quite taken aback at the all-encompassing collection and that full blocks of Cheese were displayed, unreserved.

Our dessert plate of delicate western desserts; sweetening me up was the Chocolate cone with Raspberry and creme and its adjoining Hazelnut Creme Brulee. Yum!

Carrot Cake

Chocolate Cones

Fresh Fruits

Fresh fruits are on our last itinerary but Rise never lets you go easy; determine to drive your deliberation further with about 10 types of different fruits here...

We are about done here... Burp!

Withholding ourselves from the Italian Risotto/ Pasta and Yong Tau Foo Curry/ Clear Soup cooking counters was a wise choice in our avoidance of turning belly up bloated :)

*****

If you are planning a meal here, try avoiding the weekends as Rise most often registered a full house. Waiting in queue to enter is certainly unpleasant, without mentioning the crowded buffet lines..

Rise was crowded last time I was there but the buffet was fairly mediocre. The food was ok but not up to the standard, the service was ok but why the hell on tea and coffee?

Too bad for the value of money. Wont be back

RISE crowd seems never ending :) just came back from there today; probably the experience of dining in SANDS is quite a feat to many. Cooked food was fairly mediocre, agree. But the bounty choice of quality food in all other section impresses. Self service on Tea and Coffee ;)

Oh, and i could never fault their service given the extensiveness of the ground and streams of guests. Especially when i compare them with the snobbish service, we experienced from Triple Three Mandarin Buffet ;)
